This is one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen in an online store. The website of Zingerman’s, a specialty food seller in Ann Arbor, MI, features illustrations of the products they sell. I don’t mean illustrations of different categories, like a drawing of a generic tin can; these are stylish renderings of each product’s actual packaging. It took me a few minutes of browsing to comprehend this.
I can’t think of anything else like this; The Wall Street Journal’s drawings are the only thing that comes close.
By the way, Zingerman’s food selection is pretty great, as are the prices. Smooth service, too.
